				<description>

				I would like to apologize to all site users for the inconvenience of the site being down.

Due to the success of the site had to move to a larger server and also a new hosting service.

During the transition we had problems that I have been assured were one off so we will keep our fingers crossed.

I appreciate your patience and hope for your continued support and patronage

				<title>grrrrr</title>
				<link>http://www.ureviewmovies.com/blog/index.cfm/2008/4/27/grrrrr</link>
				<description>

				The tragic death of an animal trainer In the aptly named Big Bear lake area raises questions about the use of exotic and dangerous animals in movies. The Bear that killed the trainer had just been used in the latest Will Farrell movie (insert your own joke here ) and I cant understand why they insist on using live exotics in these movies.

If you saw &quot;&quot;10,000 yrs BC or &quot;I am legend&quot; you would see computer generated animals that are all but indistinguishable from the real thing. Not that I am a good judge of woolly mammoths Saber tooth tigers or mutant killer dogs, but you know what I mean. On 20/20 Friday 18 April visual effects supervisor for the movie &quot;The Day After Tomorrow&quot; told Sam Champion that the famous scenes of glacial sheering in Al Gores &quot;An Inconvenient Truth&quot; were straight out of the movie T.D.A.T. Talk about an inconvenient expose.

 What this highlights is that you can fake a documentary to such an extent that you win an academy award. Why then can you not do the same with these poor caged and staged animal extras? Why put animals through this and endanger lives when computer generated scenes are so realistic as to be indistinguishable. Its not the bears fault that the trainer was killed, it was being a bear. Sigfried and Roy will attest a tiger is always still just a tiger.

				<title>posh theaters</title>
				<link>http://www.ureviewmovies.com/blog/index.cfm/2008/3/25/posh-theaters</link>
				<description>

				I just read about Village Roadshow ( Australian company ) with plans to build 50 theaters for first class movie watching. Each theater will have valet parking,concierge service and a lounge bar with appetizers. There will be 40 seats per theater and they will be recliners with foot rests and the movies will be digital 2D and 3D movies.

I have been to a similar theater in Australia and trust the Aussies to find a way to combine booze with movies. It was a unique experience but could get costly.

For instance, how could you watch any movie with Paris Hilton in it without 3 cocktails? or another Will Farrell sports farce without a few shots of good tequila. How much booze would you need to see Glitter with Mariah Carey?

What movie would YOU need the most alcoholic sustenance to see again?

				<title>Closed Captions on In Theatre Movies</title>
				<link>http://www.ureviewmovies.com/blog/index.cfm/2007/5/7/Closed-Captions-on-In-Theatre-Movies</link>
				<description>

				The title of this blog explains it all. Having read the review of Spiderman by Loquacious Lennie I had to try this closed caption thingie. We never mention individual theatres on this site but I will make an exception in this case because the manager was very accomodating and explained the system to me. It was The Bridge in Los Angeles(nice bar too) and the system is in use in theatre #16. The closed captions are not integral to the movie but are on a very precise auxillary system. It&apos;s the one normally showing the current blockbuster, in this case Spiderman. You get a weird looking perspex or some piece about 12&quot;X4&quot;(I didn&apos;t have a tape with me so I could be out a bit) attached to a flexible tube with a fitting that sits in the cupholder. The captions are displayed under the projection booth in reverse so you need this adapter to view the mirror image. I set it up to sit just under the movie and not in the screen like on a tv system. After experimenting with different positions my companion chose to look through the perspex at the screen. It is all about personel preference. It works like a charm. It would make an otherwise jumbled sound track understandable for the hard of hearing. This particular theatre also has headphones you can use to amplify the sound track. If you think you look weird in a movie theatre wearing headphones, wait until you see the looks you get when you set up what looks like a sneeze guard for your popcorn. But as always the proof is in the pudding and this system is a piece of cake to use and would enhance any movie for the hard of hearing.

				<title>Loquacious Lenny,s first blog</title>
				<link>http://www.ureviewmovies.com/blog/index.cfm/2007/3/29/Loquacious-Lennys-first-blog</link>
				<description>

				This is my first blog and will now be a regular event. Top Hat Tommy and I have a list of our ten favorite movies and to start off we are running a competition that to win you have to name your top ten movies and if you get the highest number of movies using both our top ten lists, you win. Its that simple. But, we have very different views on movies and that is the tricky bit. The Prizes will be anounced within a week and we can start.

				<title>Contest and new blogs</title>
				<link>http://www.ureviewmovies.com/blog/index.cfm/2007/2/7/Contest-and-new-blocs</link>
				<description>

				We are working out how to add individual blogs for the in house critics and part of our blogs will be a list of our 10 favorite movies. I am excited to see what everyone puts on the list as we wont let them communicate until they submit them.

Its bound to create debate among ourselves so I had a thought (don&apos;t get to many so I wrote it down) We will run a contest and give away a couple of prizes if you add your favorite 10 movies to the list and your list is judged best.

This will be judged by top hat tommy and who he picks is the winner with no whining after.

We are not listing the top 10 greatest movies of all time, just your favorite 10 movies. Casablanca nearly always rates in the top 10 movie lists but would not be on my 10 favorites.

We should have all this done in about 2 weeks from today so the contest will start as soon as you see our individual blog entry&apos;s.

Check back for more details soon. The contest prizes will be for to US residents only but all entries will be judged.

Prizes will be movie passes and flash stick combo thingy. all will be anounced before we start the competition.

				<description>

				After a long gestation period this baby is ready for the world to see. As with all babies the proud parents think its cute and the most precious thing in the world, but many of the visitors see a resemblance to a monkeys butt( can you tell I just saw a friends new rug rat?).
That being said we hope you will allow us to grow and will assist in our development and education as we believe that there are multiple parents that can assist in making this baby a useful part of the online community.
